Wunderlich282 - Copy  John J. Wunderlich, 91, of Aurora, Indiana passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born Monday, May 5, 1924 in Aurora, Indiana, son of the late Henry F. Wunderlich and the late Catherine Steigerwald Wunderlich.
He served his Country during WWII as a member of the United States Navy.

John was an Owner of H.F. Wunderlich Insurance Co., retiring after over 52 years of service.

He was a life member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. John was baptized, confirmed and served on St. Mary’s Parish Council for 4 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, River View Cemetery Board, Charter member of the Lions Club and a member of the American Legion Keith Ross Post #239. John enjoyed fishing but loved time with his friends and family.

Surviving are his children, David (Jana) Wunderlich of Aurora, IN; Susan (Gray) James of Houston, TX; sister, Mary Mattingly of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Ryan (Tammy) Wunderlich, Allison (Rob) Doll, Hannah and Patrick Wunderlich, Raina and Davis James; greatgrandchildren, Jacob and Gracie Wunderlich, Kate and Jack Doll.

He was recently preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Joan and a brother, George Wunderlich.

Friends are invited 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home Aurora, Indiana.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Donahue officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
