Crash claims the life of a Sunman resident

Ripley County, Ind. — A Saturday evening crash in Ripley County claimed the life of a Sunman resident.

A report from the Indiana State Police says at 9 p.m. a car driven by Matthew Anderson, 39, was eastbound on State Road 46 near County Road 650 East when his vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of a van driven by Albert Brockman, 53, of Batesville, causing a head-on collision.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. Brockman and his front seat passenger, Raegene Brockman, 48, suffered serious injuries and were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. A backseat passenger in the Brockman vehicle, Izabella Gunter, 7, was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
