Wilma Betty Welch Stephens, age 83, of Sunman, Indiana, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, surrounded by love and her family. Born in Scott County, Tennessee, on February 26, 1941, she was the daughter of Oscar and Mae Foster Welch. Betty was saved in Tennessee and was most recently a member of Gloryland Missionary Baptist Church in Cleves, Ohio.
Betty was a past Worthy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star, Dorcas Chapter of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a talented piano player and singer.
In addition to her parents, Oscar and Mae Foster Welch, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Franklin Stephens; her brothers: Roy Welch; Roger Welch; Cecil Don Welch; and Donald Glyen Welch.
Betty is survived by two daughters: Tammy Mae Stephens Hoffman and husband Greg, and Fawn Delores Stephens Williamson and husband Terry; grandchildren: Danny Hoffman and wife Jennifer, Tiffany Kincer and husband Justin; Kyle Hoffman and wife Kim; and Jordan Williamson; nine great-grandchildren; brothers: Jack Welch, Ray Welch, Jim Welch, Larry Welch, Ralph Welch and her sister Diane Lyle. She also leaves behind many special family members.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm with Pastor Chuck Gerrian officiating all at Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will be Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 am in the New Haven Cemetery, Oxford Rd., Harrison, OH with Pastor Harris Long officiating.
