William ‘Bill’ David Moses, age 74 of Metamora, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. The son of Ernel and Mildred (Jenkins) Moses was born on March 25, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The 1967 Woodward High School graduate went on to earn a B.S. from the University of Cincinnati in 1972. He retired from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He was married to Paula Jean Watson for 46 years until she passed away on April 14, 2015. Bill then married Bridget Hamilton on November 11, 2020.
Bill was a large man with an even bigger sense of humor. You could never tell when he was being serious due to his sarcastic nature. The really great thing about Bill was his love for everyone. He had friends aged 18-100. There was not a person he could not talk to. To those he loved he was a fierce protector, to those that crossed his loved ones, he was their worst nightmare. He was never afraid to stand up for what he believed in. Bill was always true to his convictions.
Bill was an avid gun collector and constantly looking for his next purchase. His passion for guns was only surpassed by his passion for restoring cars. He spent a few years as the president of the Southwest Ohio Buick Club. His 1917 Buick was even featured in the movie ‘Eight Men Out’. He also helped the crew in the movie ‘Rain Man’ when they filmed in Cincinnati, with a power window problem in Tom Cruise’s 1949 Buick. In his final days, while in the hospital, he kept saying he needed to get back to his garage to work on a Hudson Terraplane for one of his dearest friends. We will miss him immensely but are grateful for all the memories and love he gave to us. As one of his friends said best, “People will be telling Bill stories for decades.”
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Bridget Moses; son, Andy Moses; daughter, Andrea Jean Barr (Casey); bonus children, Austin Wheeler and Cailey Rork; grandchildren, Joey Barr & Kellen Barr; and brother Robert Moses (Esther).
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Paula Jean.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4-7pm followed by 7:00pm funeral services all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial will be at 1:00pm on Friday in Pleasant View Cemetery in Williamsburg, KY.
