Mr. Dealious “Dee” Young, Jr.

Mr. Dealious “Dee” Young, Jr., age 52, of Milan, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on June 9, 1970 in Batesville, Indiana. He was the loving son of Dealious “Dee” Young, Sr. and Betty Lou (Godsey) Young. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1988 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Dee was employed as a machinist for Batesville Products Inc. retiring in 2017 due to his health after several years of service. Dee loved playing guitar and playing video games, watching movies and cooking shows. Dee’s favorite thing to do was fishing. He loved playing with his 21 month old great-niece, Myla. Dee passed away at 11:22 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana.

Dee will be deeply missed by his mother, Betty Lou (Godsey) Young of Milan, IN; his sisters, Rhoda Roxanne Hartig of Milan, IN and Dana Rochelle Stevens and her husband, Darryll of Milan, IN; his brother, Sherman Mitchell Young of Milan, IN; his nieces, Shannon (Matt) McKane of Osgood, IN and Natasha (Justin) Bushorn of Osgood, IN; his nephews, Benny (Emily) Hartig, Jr. of Osgood, IN and Marc Stevens of Milan, IN; his great-nieces, Tori (Collin Vest) Kenney of Versailles, IN, Jayda Hartig of Versailles, IN, Haisley Hartig of Holton, IN, Brystol Hartig of Holton, IN and Myla Stevens of Milan, IN; his great-nephews, Kaiden McKane, Graesyn Bushorn, Camden Bushorn, Hudson Bushorn and Benny Hartig III.; his great-great-niece, Carysn Vest; his aunt, Mary Kroft of Englewood, FL and his numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dealious “Dee” Young, Sr., died November 4, 2018; his parental-grandparents, John Mitchell and Rhoda (Wilson) Young; his maternal-grandparents, Sherman and Laura (Barnett) Godsey; his great-niece, Emmalyn Jean Bushorn and his aunts and uncles, Ethal Osborn, Oscar Young, Manuel Young, Enoch Young, Rosco Young, Virgil Young, Alonzo Young, Reda Bush, Marie Shoemaker, Blanch Gillis, Hazel Chilton, Jimmy Godsey, Janice Schwallie, Sherman “Bobby” Godsey, Billy Godsey, Nora Vaughn, Delphia Hooten and Jessie Haney.

Dee’s wishes were cremation and no services are being held at this time.
