Wildcats lose, Pirates win at South Dearborn Boys Soccer Sectional

At the Class 2A Sectional 28 Boys Soccer Sectional hosted by South Dearborn, Monday’s opening round saw Franklin County fall hard to South Dearborn while Greensburg double up Rushville to advance.

Franklin County’s boys soccer season ended with a 12-0 loss South Dearborn.  It was 9-0 SD at the half.

Scoring for the Knights were Dana Lewis with five goals, Hunter Garland with two with Ashton Cotton, Austyn Tibbs, Brodie Teke, Easton Schumann and Hunter Gates garnering one each.

Breaking an 18-year South Dearborn season assist record was Cotton whose five assists for this match gives hime 24 for the season according to South Dearborn’s Jon Wismann. Lewis had three assists while Garland and Tibbs each assisted once.

In the other round one match, Greensburg defeated Rushville 4-2.  Grayson Newhart scored a pair of goals for G-Burg.  Teammate Luke Hellmich had two assists and one score. Cy Miller provided the other Pirate goal.

Greensburg will face South Dearborn in Wednesday’s first semifinal at 5 pm.
