Franklin County moved to 10-0 in conference play and 12-1 overall with a 6-5 win at Greensburg in 9 innings.
Despite committing 4 errors defensively, FC was able to push across a run in the top of the 9th inning to secure the win. Matthew Billman pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 runs but only 1 earned run. Joe Fields came on in relief to pitch the final 4 innings to record the win. Offensively, FC did most of the damage in the 2nd and 3rd innings, highlighted by Augustus Runyon’s 3-run home run in the 3rd inning. In the 9th, Dalton Durbin led off with a single and on the next pitch stole second. After a wild pitch advanced him to 3rd, another wild pitch with 2 outs scored Durbin from 3rd.
FC will host Lawrenceburg on Monday at 5:30 before traveling to Lawrenceburg on Thursday. Between the two conference games, FC will go to Union County on Tuesday for a non-conference game.
