Franklin County High School Girls Varsity Cross Country finishes 6th place at Connersville High School – Invite.
Franklin County Girls ran fast times, but could not break into a top 5 finish. Junior, Lauren Kelley, ran a smart, fast race, and finished in 6th place with a time of 21:24. Senior, Katelyn Meyer, finished in 13th place with her time of 22:55. Katelyn once again, had a fast finish, passing a few of her competitors at the end. Sophomore, Katherine Apsley, and Junior, Josie Selm, almost fined with exact times. Katherine raced into the finishers’ chute 1 tenth of a second faster than Josie. Sophomore , Emma Cabezuelo, had a great race with a finishing time of 26:10. Freshman, Kenzie Rogers, rounded out the team with her finishing time of 31:28. The Lady Wildcat runners ran faster times this year than last year at the Connersville Invitational. They hope to continue to drop their times and run strategically against their competition as the cross country season progresses.

Despite faster times across the board, compared to the same course last year, the Wildcat cross country team could not place higher than 9th place. Junior, Drew Grant, just missed a top 25 finish, placing 26th place with a time of 19:14. Sophomore, Ben Banks, finished in 40th place with a time of 19:42. Freshmen, Hunter and Harmon Marshall, finished almost simultaneously, with times of 20:20 and 20:21 respectively. Senior, Harvey Marshall, was close behind with a time of 20:25. Senior, Kyle Seibert, and Sophomore, Adam Grant, also finished strong with Kyle’s time of 20:28 and Adam’s time of 20:32. These are the fastest times, collectively, that the Wildcats have had this season, and possibly any other season prior to this.
