Wayne Strimple, 83, of Aurora passed away at 1:56 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2025 at The Waters of Rising Sun. He was born in Versailles on December 22, 1941, the son of William Hoover and Naomi Velete Courtney Strimple. He married Nadine Martha Bultman on October 5, 1963 and she preceded him in death on July 17, 1993. Wayne married Janet Otter on August 14, 2004 and she survives. Survivors include Rodney Stimple of Cincinnati, Rhonda (Jeff) Baird of Ross, Ohio, Sandy (Doug) Prarat of Batesville, nine grandchildren Michael Stewart, Mandy (John) Fangman, Amy (Dave) Strunk, Hannah (Jayson) Rook, Samantha (Tyler) Ballauer, Jacob (Megan) Prarat, Abbie Prarat and Logan Prarat, and 11 great-grandchildren, three step children Jeff (Michelle) Otter of Rising sun, Brian Otter of Florence, Indiana, Darlene (Troy) Weaver of Aurora, 7 step grandchildren Kayla (Cody) Thayer, Karen (Ryan) Guessin, Kevin Otter, Kelli Jo (Travis) Ison, Courtney Weaver, Dustin (Sara) Otter, Cody (Christian) Weaver and 5 step great grandchildren, one brother Rex (Brenda) Strimple of Holton, two sisters, Kay (Mike) Wells of South Bend, Mary Mosier of Osgood. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Don and a sister Pat Asche. Mr. Strimple was a former driver for UPS for over 25 years and owned and operated Strimple’s Barber Shop for over 10 years in Versailles. Wayne was a member of Versailles Masonic Hall #7 and Versailles Sons of Legion Post 173. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, July 25, 2025 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy Thieman officiating and burial will follow at the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5pm to 7pm with a masonic service held at 6:45pm. Memorials may be given to the Masonic Hall #7 or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
