Wanda L. (Ridener) Burdette, 74, of Sunman passed away Tuesday January 3, 2023 at her home. Wanda was born on Monday, June 21, 1948 in Corbin, Kentucky; daughter of Harold and Imogene (Wells) Ridener. Wanda married the love of her life, Denver Burdette, on December 24, 1965. Wanda was a registered nurse. She graduated from St. Francis Nursing School and later graduated from University of Cincinnati. During part of Wanda’s career, she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in the operating room for 25 years. Wanda was a member of the Negangard’s Corner Baptist Church. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, watching movies, and watching TV. Wanda most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Wanda will be missed by her husband Denver Burdette of Sunman; sons Michael “Caz” (Denise) Burdette of Sunman and Jeff (Shaunda) Burdette of Hernando, Florida; daughter Denise (Daniel) Klaber of Butler, Kentucky; grandchildren Michael, Rebecca, Danny, Dalton, Peyton, Annalysse, Quinn, and Evan; great-grandchildren Alexander, Noah, Lucy, and James; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Imogene Ridener.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Wanda from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. A service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Clyde Schockle officiating. Burial will take place at St. Paul Methodist Cemetery.
