Walk To End Alzheimer’s Returns to Batesville August 24

Batesville, IN—The Community is being asked to step up in support of the fight against Alzheimer’s disease at the Southeast Indiana Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Liberty Park in Batesville on Saturday, Aug. 24. Registration opens at 9 a.m.; the Walk begins at 10 a.m. Although there is no registration fee, walkers are encouraged to collect donations.

“Alzheimer’s disease touches many families in Southeastern Indiana. The Walk is a way for the community to come together in support of these families and the services and programs we provide,” said Hannah Volz, Special Events Manager with the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati. “We have been overwhelmed by the community’s interest and support of the Alzheimer’s Association.”

Last year’s Walk attracted nearly 500 participants, raising more than $45,000.

This year’s event will feature special pre-Walk and post-Walk ceremonies as well as food and refreshments. Radio legend Jim Scott will serve as event emcee.

Serving as the primary national fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is an annual event that brings those affected by Alzheimer’s disease, family members and community together in a show of love, remembrance, and support. Last year, an estimated 7,500 people participated in the Chapter’s five local Walks, raising more than $1.4 million to support the Greater Cincinnati Chapter’s local programs and services and national Alzheimer research.

Although there is no registration fee, participants are encouraged to collect donations. Participants can register online by clicking here or the morning of the Walk.
