Versailles, In. — Osgood resident, Cathy Volz will assume the duties of Ripley County treasurer in January of 2019. Volz was selected from a field that included current auditor Bill Wagner and auditor’s office employee Lisa Vestal during the July 30 caucus.
The caucus was implemented because of the move of Amy Copeland to the treasurer’s office. Copeland had two years left of her term during the primary and is unopposed in the November election. The deadline to declare candidacy for the November election was June 30,so, Copeland is the only person on the ticket for the position of auditor.
