Virginia “Jinny” Williams

Virginia “Jinny” (Carrier) Williams 84, of Dillsboro, Indiana, passed away Sunday June 2, 2019.

Jinny was born February 21, 1935 in Lincoln County, KY, daughter of the late Eddie Cecil and Frances (Allen) Carrier.

She worked as a Lead Baker for Krogers, retiring after over 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church since moving to Dillsboro, Indiana in 1974.

After graduation from Woodward High School she worked as an office worker. Her first child was born in March 1957 and that is when she became a mother and “housewife”. Jinny was a stay at home mom and a farmer’s wife until 1977 and that is when she began working for Kroger in Lawrenceburg. Jinny’s greatest joy was her children.

Jinny is survived by her children, Sharon (Dave) Conn of Cincinnati, OH, Danny (Kelly) Williams of Dillsboro, IN, John Williams of Dillsboro, IN, Andy (Melanie) Williams of Loveland, OH, Robert Williams of Lincoln Park, MI; grandchildren, Steven Gemmer, Stephanie Gemmer, Jeremy, Dustin and Britney Williams; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas Williams; and one brother.

Friends will be received Thursday, June 6, 2019, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Church, with Father Stephen Donahue officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro, Indiana.
