Velma Mae Mockbee, 81, of Greendale, IN, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024.
She was born February 4, 1943, in Liberty, KY, daughter of the late Grady Johnson and Maudie (Rogers) Johnson.
Velma worked as a packer and inspector for Thatcher Glass, with over 10 years of service.
She was a member of Loving Grandmothers Club for 13 years. Velma enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, playing cards and BINGO. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Velma is survived by her son, Michael Mockbee of Moores Hill, IN; daughters, Shelly Jansen (Bobby Bryant) of Greendale, IN, Donette (Donald) Livingston of Manchester, IN; brothers, James Eldrid Johnson and Robert Elmer Johnson; sister, Violet (Ty) Lacey; grandchildren, Michael Mockbee, Jr., Whitney Livingston; great-grandchildren, Riley Mockbee, Makena Mockbee, Waylon Webster, and Fallon Webster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Maudie Johnson; sister, Sharon Witteride.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 3, 2024, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, at 7:00 pm.
