Velma G. Reese, age 91, of Brookville, Indiana died Friday, February 13, 2026 at her residence in Brookville, following a lengthy illness.
Born May 15, 1934 in Brookville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William & Mary (Senefeld) Cooley.
A homemaker, she had been a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Brookville.
Survivors include seven children, Gary Brandes of Lebanon, Ohio, Mark Brandes of Brookville, Indiana, Robert Brandes of Harrison, Ohio, Michael Brandes of Kentucky, Eric Brandes of Batesville, Indiana, Mary Brandes of Oxford, Ohio, Diane (Tony Pyfrin) Devoll of Brookville, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, Robert H. Brandes, 2ND husband, Leonard K. Reese, son Jeffrey Brandes, daughter, Pamela A. Hinderberger, sister, Mary LaFollette; two granddaughters, Melissa Sue Hinderberger and Angel Grace Brandes.
In keeping with Velma’s wishes there will be no public services.
