(Dearborn County, IN) – Two mosquito samples collected in Dearborn County have tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
It is recommended that you take precautions against mosquito bites to reduce the risk of contracting West Nile and other diseases caused by mosquito-borne viruses.
These include get rid of breeding grounds by eliminating standing water; using bug repellant spray when outside and wearing pants and long sleeve shirts, particularly in the woods.
There have been two confirmed human cases of West Nile Virus statewide so far this year.
