Two face felony drug charges after motel search warrant

Seymour, In. — Thursday evening around 10 p.m. members of the Indiana State Police-Versailles All Crimes Policing Team served a search warrant at a Seymour hotel room which led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamine and the arrest of two men.

The investigation began when troopers received information that drug activity was taking place at a room at the Allstate Inn.  The information led to troopers applying for and receiving a search warrant from the Jackson County Circuit Court.

Upon arriving at the scene, a male, later identified as Michael W. Bowling, 39, fled from the troopers on foot.  While fleeing, Bowling allegedly tore open a baggy containing suspected methamphetamine and attempted to destroy it.  He was soon apprehended nearby.

Upon searching the room at the Allstate Inn, troopers located a second man, identified as Christopher M. Dubois II, 35.  Dubois was found to be in possession of numerous hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia.  Additional suspected methamphetamine, syringes, and drug paraphernalia were located in the hotel room.

During the investigation, troopers located and seized approximately an ounce of suspected methamphetamine, syringes, and drug paraphernalia.  Both Bowling and Dubois were arrested at the scene and incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail.

Bowling was arrested on charges of dealing methamphetamine over 10 grams, possession of methamphetamine, possession of hypodermic syringe, obstruction of justice, maintaining a common nuisance, resisting law enforcement, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dubois was arrested on charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of hypodermic syringe, and visiting a common nuisance.

The case is still under investigation.  More charges may be possible.
