Two-county police chase lands pair in jail

DECATUR/BARTHOLOMEW COUNTIES, IN — Two people were arrested following a two-county chase that began in Decatur County shortly after 10:30 Wednesday night.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office says Sgt. Rob Goodfellow was working an Operation Pullover Seat Belt Enforcement detail when he saw a vehicle going 77 in a 55-mph zone on State Road 3 at County Road 450 West.

After stopping the vehicle, he asked the driver for his license, but the driver took off toward Columbus.

The vehicle went into Bartholomew County and through the Hope area.

With the help of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department, and Greensburg Police, tire deflation devices were placed around State Road 7 and US 31.

The vehicle crossed the tire deflation devices and came to a stop a short time later.

The driver, identified as Say Moo of St. Paul, Minnesota, was arrested and charged with Fleeing Law Enforcement, Possession of a Legend Drug, Possession of Methamphetamine (all Level 6 felonies), and Reckless Driving (Class B misdemeanor).

Investigators say he was also wanted on a pair of warrants from two different states.

His passenger, Thay Moo, was also arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Legend Drug.

Both the driver and passenger were taken to the Decatur County Detention Center.

Sheriff David Durant is thanking the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department, the Greensburg Police Department, and Decatur County Communications for their assistance during the pursuit.
