Mrs. Pauline Elizabeth (Wiley) Johnson, age 85, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on December 6, 1936 in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Paul North and Vinetta Mae (Scudder) Wiley. Pauline was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1954 graduate of Vevay High School. On December 22, 1954, Pauline was united in marriage to Leon Johnson at the Switzerland Baptist Church. This happy union of over 67 years was blessed with a daughter, Sherri. Pauline was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana. She was later employed as a clerk and cashier for CVS Pharmacy in Vevay, Indiana for 25 years. Pauline resided all of her life in the Switzerland County community. She held a seat on the Jefferson Township Trustee Advisory Board. Pauline loved her daily telephone calls to her great friend, Leah Jones. Pauline enjoyed getting her hair done at the salon, sitting on the front porch in the Summer time, watching scary movies, as well as, spoiling her granddaughter and great-grandchildren and going on lunch dates. Pauline passed away at 11:33 p.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her husband. Leon Johnson of Vevay, IN; her daughter, Sherri Crawford and her husband, Ronnie of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Chelsey Thomas and her husband, CJ, Ashley McGrew, Shelby Stethen and Brittany Mullins; her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ava, Bryson, Isabella, Evelyn and Morgan; her several nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law, Doug Ray of Vevay, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul North Wiley, died June 3, 1982 and Vinetta Mae (Scudder) Wiley, died May 8, 1995; her brother, Paul W. “Buck” Wiley, died July 30, 1990 and her sister, Barbara Mae Ray, died March 16, 2017.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
