Twisters Boys Soccer Results

OA traveled to Versailles on a hot and muggy night for a soccer game. Less than 2 minutes into the game it was halted for Thunder.  Then again late in the first half. OA came away with a 3-0 win scoring 1 time in the first half. Even through the shots were clearly in our favor the score was not adding up.   S.R. only had 4 shots but 1 was off the post and another was saved by a nice diving play by Chris to preserve the shutout.   We had some problems in the first half as S. R. was playing the long ball by passing their Mid Field in doing so we didn’t use our Mids as much as we want to.  We also played one way too much, to predictable.  We talked at half time and we seemed to adjust and play better in the second half. On offense it was the Ben Kraus night as he netted all 3 goals all assisted by his running mates.  Defensively we were lead by Adam Huber
again as our defense came away with its third shutout of the season.

Ben Kraus scored in period 1 at 8:58 assisted by a Gariott Scott pass into the 18.  Ben Kraus scored in period 2 at 19:21 assisted by a beautiful thru ball pass from Sam Mahoney.  Ben Kraus scored his hat trick goal in period 2 at 7:46 assisted by a great cross by Lucas McFee into the 18 and a 1 touch shot.  The Twisters had 28 shots with 12 on goal, 2 off sides, 3 fouls, 4 corners, 2 hand balls and Chris Hautman had 2 saves.
South Ripley had 4 shots with 2 on goal, 5 fouls, 2 corners, 1 hand ball, 1 yellow card.  Their keeper had 9 saves.

The game was delayed about 45 minutes for 2 different thunder delays. The sun was shining bright, but for the safety of all the game was delayed due to the thunder and there was a nice rainbow several miles from the field.
