Twisters And Shiners Battle To Tie

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters and The Rising Sun Shiners battle to a 1-1 tie.

Twisters Gariott Scott scored in period 1 at 27:18 knocking in ball in front of goal after nice shot by Lucas McFee caught the side post. The Twisters had 21 shots with 9 on goal, 6 fouls, 8 corners, 1 hand ball. Chris Hautman had 5 saves with Adam Huber having 2 saves on defense.

Rising Sun scored in period 2 at 36:43 by Landon Cole just inside the 18. The Shiners had 11 shots with 8 on goal, 3 fouls, 3 corners, 1 hand balls and their keeper had 6 saves with 2 other saves by their defense.

OA had a match against Rising Sun On Monday night.  OA led at the half 1-0 but gave up a goal in the second Half to end in a tie.    Both  teams had their chances to score but good defense on both sides came up big and turned away their opportunities.

“The Shiners played 5 in the box which slowed our attack down some but we still managed 21 shots and 8 corners.  We have to do a better job of finishing with that many chances. Give a lot of credit to the Shiners Keeper he stopped shot after shot.”

Next game Tuesday at Franklin Co.
