(Milan, IN) – A 23-year-old woman was arrested on drug charges following a Thursday night traffic stop in Milan.
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office says, during the stop around 8:15 p.m., a deputy was talking to the driver and requested that a K9 be brought in to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle.
Investigators say K9 Dex gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle.
Deputies say a probable cause search of the vehicle turned up suspected methamphetamine in the driver’s purse.
Chaylyn Schachel of Milan was arrested and taken to the Ripley County Jail.
She’s being held on a felony count of Possession of Methamphetamine.
