Tony Ray Stacy, 65, of Greensburg, passed away on December 13, 2025. He was born on April 21, 1960, in Batesville, Indiana, to Terry and Wanda (Hilbert) Stacy.
Tony grew up in Brookville and graduated from Brookville High School in 1978, where he participated in basketball and baseball. He continued his education at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky, graduating in 1982. Shortly thereafter, Tony began what would become his lifelong career in the car business, starting in Cincinnati—a career he truly loved.
On December 13, 1986, Tony married the love of his life, Jean Geis, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. After 4 years of living in Cincinnati they moved to Greensburg, where Tony worked in car sales at Garry Hadler, Acra, and later Fleetwood Chevrolet, where he was still employed at the time of his passing. Tony had a passion for the car business and was well known for always making a deal.
Tony and Jean loved traveling together. When their children were young, they cherished family trips to Myrtle Beach, and later enjoyed winter cruises in the Caribbean. Tony took great pride in his backyard oasis, spending countless hours in the pool and tending to his flowers. He often said there was no need to vacation in the summer with a backyard like his. He also looked forward to golf trips with his close friends.
Tony’s greatest accomplishment in life were his children, Trevor and Nora. He loved watching them play sports and was immensely proud that both earned college degrees and built successful lives. His greatest joy later in life was being “Papa” or “Poppy” to his grandchildren.
In April of 2025, Tony was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). Although he was in remission, the diagnosis changed his perspective and reinforced his desire to live life to the fullest. He made it a priority to call his mom several times a week and never missed his cherished Sunday morning phone calls with his brother, Brad.
He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Tony is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jean Stacy; his son, Trevor (Merrilee) Stacy; his daughter, Nora (Aaron) Bruns; his grandchildren, Case and Hallie Bruns; and the family dog, Willa. He is also survived by his mother, Wanda Stacy; his brother, Brad (Denise) Stacy; four nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Stacy; his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Wanda Geis; his grandparents, Herman and Martha Stacy and Ray and Bernice Hilbert.
Tony will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to friends, his passion for cars, and his ability to find joy in everyday life.
