Thelma M. Eckstein, 86, passed away November 6, 2021 at her residence in Sunman, Indiana surrounded by her family.
Born November 19, 1934 in Batesville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Leo and Anna (Rosfeld) Theobald. Thelma married Edmund Eckstein on November 24, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Thelma held numerous jobs throughout her life at many places including Hill-Rom and IGA. She loved her family, bingo, gardening, and pets. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and led a life filled with prayer and faith.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Edmund Eckstein; three children, Nancy Denni (Bruce), Daniel Eckstein (Karen), and Janie Anderson (Rick); five grandchildren, Kristin Denni (Ben Dorrel), Sara Davidson, Amber Scholl (Nick), Michael Eckstein (Chelsea), Jenna Anderson, and step grandson, Jeremy Pea; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Cutter and Ruth Siefert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 A.M. immediately after at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Sunman. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials in honor of Thelma can be given to St. Nicholas Catholic Church. They may be brought to services or mailed to: Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
