RIPLEY COUNTY, Ind. — A Ripley County teen suffered serious injuries in a crash late last week.
According to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Connor M. Amos, 18, was traveling Southbound on State Road 129.
His truck crossed the center line just north of State Road 48.
A northbound semi being driven by Travis Beckelhymer, of Ohio, attempted to avoid the collision by driving onto the shoulder, but Amos’ truck struck the trailer’s real axle.
According to police, Amos was trapped in his vehicle for around an hour before emergency personnel could free him.
Once freed, he was flown to the University of Cincinnati hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Amos’ family has set up a Gofundme page to raise money to help with medical expenses.
