(Greensburg, IN) – Greensburg City Council approved a nine-year phased in real-property tax abatement Tuesday night for Haidlmair, an Austrian-based plastic injection mold manufacturer that plans to build a plant in the Tree City.
The company is making a $7.2 million investment in Greensburg, and plans to hire 27 full-time employees with an average wage of $30 an hour.
Greensburg/Decatur County Economic Development Director Bryan Robbins told council the company will purchase a site off Liberty Circle in the 19-acre Commerce Park, which has been on the market for about 17 years.
“Thanks to the efforts of a gentleman named Andrew Bennett, who is a resident of Westport. He helped bring them in and work with us for some time…showed them numerous sites and this is the result of some great work on his part,” said Robbins, who added this will be the company’s first investment in the United States.
“They do have a do have a leased office in Charlotte, North Carolina, so we were competing a little bit with Charlotte, and I’m happy to say that we won out and we look forward to a good partnership with them,” Robbins said.
There is no timeline on when the plant will be up and running, but Robbins says the company wants to start building the Greensburg facility and hiring employees as soon as possible.
