Susan Kay Closser (Gardner) was born November 11, 1955 in Norfolk, Virginia to Robert and Carolyn Gardner. Susie passed away on September 12, 2021 at the age of 65 in Shelbyville, Indiana after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loved ones who will honor her memory by living their lives to the fullest and always remembering the amazing sister, wife, mom, and grandma she was.
Susie married Jerry Lee Closser on June 25, 1977. They had 5 children Andrew Joel married to Cindy Closser, Erin Rene married to Michael Arnold, Katelyn Louise married to Mitchell Lee, Jesse Jayne Closser, Samantha Closser (deceased)
Susie and Jerry will have eight grandchildren; Elena Marisol Closser (19), Calvin Robert Arnold (17), Andres Jesus Closser (16), Antonio David Closser (14), Owen Michael Arnold (11), Penelope Sue Lee (3), Vivienne Kay Lee (1) and another Lee on the way due in March 2022!
Susie enjoyed golfing, traveling to Florida and most of all her family. She is the proud winner of the CCI Women’s Golf Championship. She was a part of the North Branch Women’s Golf League in Greensburg, Indiana. Florida was one of her favorite places to visit with her family. She loved spending time on the beach, sipping rum runners. Spending time with her family was the single most important thing to her.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 6:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Mike Gardner officiating.
