RIPLEY COUNTY, IN — A Sunman man was seriously injured in an off-road vehicle (ORV) accident at 11:47 pm Saturday near the 5800 block of Friendship Road in Ripley County.
Indiana Conservation Officers say 21-year-old Brent Quatman was operating his side-by-side ORV on the roadway when he lost control and struck a tree.
Quatman was taken to Margaret Mary Heath in Batesville then transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in serious condition.
Investigators say Quatman was not wearing a helmet or safety harness at the time of the accident.
Assisting agencies included the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, Ripley County EMS, and the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department.
