(Blooming Grove, IN) – We have this reminder that State Road 1 near Blooming Grove will be closed next week for bridge replacement.
INDOT says crews will begin work on Tuesday, May 30 on one of four bridge replacement projects on State Road 1.
The first two projects are located near Blooming Grove between Fairfield Causeway and Laurel roads.
Only one bridge will be closed at a time to maintain local access.
Work on both bridges is expected to be finished by late October.
The official detour is State Road 101 to State Road 44, or you can find an alternate route.
The contract was awarded to Paul H. Rohe Company for $6.7 million and includes four bridge replacement projects located on State Road 1.
The anticipated project completion for all four bridges is in the fall of 2024.
INDOT reminds drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
