Stanley F. Kocher, of Brookville, was born on August 23, 1933 in Brookville, the son of Frank and Ethel Marie Seal Kocher. After working for Pepsi-Cola for 32 years, he then worked for Brackney Construction, Lemon Maids and later mowed grass at Maple Grove Cemetery. Stanley was a member of St. Michael Church, the Bernard Hurst Post #77 American Legion, the FOE 1129, and was a life-long member of the VFW Post 2014. He enjoyed traveling with Vera and boating, loved to fish, and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the VFW. On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the age of 84, he passed away at Veteran’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Those surviving who will cherish Stanley’s memory include his daughter, Lori Simmermeyer of Brookville; a son, Eric (Cindy) Kocher of Brookville; 4 grandchildren, Cory Simmermeyer, Cole Simmermeyer, Gracie Simmermeyer, and Benjamin Simmermeyer; a brother, Paul Kocher of Brookville, and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday September 16, 2017 at 4 p.m. at the Brookville VFW. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Brookville VFW, patient services at the VA Hospital – Cincinnati, the Brookville American Legion, or to the Brookville Public Library.
