SR School Board Approves Field Turf Bid

(Versailles, IN) – The South Ripley School Board has given its approval to move ahead with actual work on the high school baseball renovation project.

It was back in June when the Reds Community Fund and St. Elizabeth Healthcare each donated $100,000 for the installation of artificial turf on the infield.

Four quotes were submitted by turf companies, and the bid was awarded to Sprinturf LLC of Charleston, South Carolina.

“Hopefully, they’ll be able to get started on this project in the very near future, as we continue our fundraising efforts to make sure not only can we handle the turf part of the project, but a few ancillary items that will go along with that to really spruce up and improve that baseball facility,” said Superintendent Rob Moorhead.

He says the school board is satisfied with fundraising efforts for the project, which are necessary because artificial turf costs a lot more than the total of the two donations.

If all goes well, they hope to start using the turf field in the spring of 2026.
