Batesville volleyball defeated Lawrenceburg in five sets Tuesday evening. Scores were 25-19, 25-18, 25-10, 25-18, 15-10. The Tigers won the first two sets before the Bulldogs swept the final three.

The Toronto Blue Jays rallied to knock off the Reds 13-9 at Great American Ball Park in a game heard last night on WRBI. Cincinnati scored five runs in the 2nd inning off Blue Jays starter and former Cy Young Award winner Shane Bieber to jump out to the early lead. But the Jays battled back and hit five home runs, including four off Reds starter Zach Littell. Bieber gets the win while Nick Martinez took the loss in relief. In addition to dropping two out of three to the Blue Jays, the Reds failed to capitalize on a chance to pick up a game on New York in the NL Wild Card race after the Mets lost at Detroit. The Reds remain five games in back of the Mets. Cincinnati is now 70-70 and has lost 10 of its last 13 games. The Reds slide coincides with the San Francisco Giants resurgence. They’re now a game ahead of Cincinnati in the NL Wild Card race. The Reds have today off before starting a make-or-break three-game series at home tomorrow night against the Mets.

Former IndyCar champ and 2018 Indianapolis 500 winner Will Power has joined Andretti Global for the 2026 season – one day after announcing he was parting ways with Team Penske. Power will reportedly drive the number 26 Honda car formerly driven by Colton Herta, who is leaving IndyCar to join Cadillac as a Formula 1 test driver next year.

The NFL regular season kicks off tonight in Philadelphia, where the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys.

The Indianapolis Colts will honor late owner Jim Irsay at their season opener this weekend when they enshrine him in the team’s Ring Of Honor. Irsay will join his father Robert Irsay, in the Ring Of Honor. As for the game itself, new quarterback Daniel Jones says he’s eager to have a fresh start for his NFL career. Previously with the New York Giants, he was named the starter at quarterback over Anthony Richardson during the off-season. The Colts host the Dolphins Sunday at 1 p.m.

Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti is giving a ton of respect to Kennesaw State. The two teams will meet this Saturday in Bloomington. Cignetti made sure to remind media and fans this week that the Owls held Power 5 program Wake Forest to 10 points in a Week 1 loss to the Demon Deacons. He said he’s urging his team to be dialed in after what he described as a less-than-impressive win over Old Dominion last week.

The Indiana Fever are hope to snap their current losing skid when they host the Chicago Sky tomorrow night in Indianapolis. The Fever have dropped two straight entering tomorrow night’s contest. Indiana needs a few more wins to nail down a spot in the WNBA Playoffs.
