Oldenburg Academy topped Lawrenceburg 47-35 in girls basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Twisters’ Rachel Suttman led all scorers with 17 points. Teammate Alli Nobbe added 10. OA also won the JV contest 25-16.

It’s high school football sectional championship week, and we have a pair of games for you tonight on WRBI. North Decatur visits Milan for the Class 1A Sectional 47 title. Rob Lafary and I have the call on 103.9 FM and the WRBI App starting with pregame at 6:40…East Central visits Whiteland to decide the winner of Class 5A Sectional 14. Rob Moorhead and Jerry Stenger will call it on the WRBI App beginning with pregame at 7:10…Also tonight, Greensburg entertains Lawrenceburg in Class 3A Sectional 30.

The Cincinnati Reds have announced eight nominees for induction into the team’s Hall of Fame. Nominees for the Class of 2026 are Homer Bailey, Francisco Cordero, Zack Cozart, Aaron Harang, Mike Leake, Brandon Phillips, Scott Rolen and Edinson Volquez. Two of the players from this group of eight will be selected for induction the weekend of April 24-26. Fans can cast ballots online at RedsMuseum.org through November 27.

The Reds also  made the several transactions on Thursday: reinstated RHP Julian Aguiar Julian, INF Tyler Callihan, RHP Rhett Lowder, RHP Carson Spiers, LHP Brandon Williamson, from the 60-day injured list; sent RHP Sam Benschoter outright to AAA-Louisville; selected the contract of RHP Jose Franco from AAA-Louisville, and claimed RHP Roddery Muñoz off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals. LHP Reiver Sanmartin was claimed off waivers by the San Francisco Giants. The Reds 40-man roster is at 37.

Mac McClung, was signed by the Indiana Pacers to a multi-year contract last week, has been waived. Indiana is bringing in veteran point guard Monte Morris, who was with the Phoenix Suns last year. Morris was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 2017. The 1-7 Pacers open a four-city western road trip tomorrow night in Denver. WRBI coverage begins following girls high school basketball.

The Indianapolis Colts introduced Sauce Gardner to fans and media on Thursday. He was traded to the Colts by the New York Jets earlier this week. Gardner says the “situation is perfect” in his eyes because he wants to be with a team that can win. Gardner was drafted by the Jets out of UC in 2022 and was Defensive Rookie of the Year. The Colts will play the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, Germany on Sunday. Defensive end DeForest Buckner is dealing with a neck injury and did not make the trip.
