Greensburg won the girls Decatur County track and field meet. It was the Pirates 61, the North Decatur Chargers 53 and the South Decatur Cougars 42.

In middle school track and field, Switzerland County won both ends of a tri-meet at Rising Sun that included St. Louis. It was the Pacer boys 84, the Shiners 41 and the Cardinals 12. Switz took the girls meet with 69.5 points, followed by Rising Sun with 42.5 and St. Louis 19.

The North Decatur boys came in third in the four-team Tri Invite. The host Titans finished first with 80, followed by Daleville at 49, the Chargers 38 and Blue River Valley had 33.

North Decatur varsity softball gained a split in back to back nights. The Chargers beat Waldron 12-0 on Tuesday, thanks to a 10-run 1st inning. Last night, North Decatur fell to Knightstown by an identical 12-0 score.

Batesville High School will host its first ever Business Day Special this afternoon at the athletic complex. The Bulldogs will take on Lawrenceburg in both baseball and softball. First pitch at each diamond is set for 1:45, weather permitting.

The Reds held off the Braves 4-3 in Atlanta in a game heard last night on WRBI. With the win, Cincinnati snaps its four game losing streak. T.J. Friedl clubbed a pair of solo home runs to lead the Reds offense. Hunter Greene struck out six in 3 innings but left the game after suffering a right groin injury while warming up before the start of the bottom of the 4th. The Reds bullpen made the lead stand up. Cincinnati looks to gain a split in the four-game series when lefthander Nick Lodolo to the mound this evening against Braves righty Spencer Schwellenbach. Broadcast time on 103.9 FM is 6:45.

The Reds yesterday placed third baseman Noelvi Marte on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Monday, because of a left oblique strain. Outfielder Rece Hinds was recalled from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding roster move.
