Andrew Abbott tossed a complete game three hitter as the Reds blanked the Guardians 1-0 in Cleveland in a game heard last night on WRBI. Abbott struck out five and walked one while throwing 110 pitches. It’s Abbott’s first career complete game. He runs his record to 6-1 on the year. Slade Cecconi took the loss for Cleveland. Spencer Steer drove in Will Benson from second base in the 5th inning for the game’s only run.The Reds have won five in a row and are two games above .500. They go for the series and season sweep of the Guardians this afternoon when they send Nick Lodolo to the mound. He’ll be opposed by Logan Allen. Coverage begins at 12:40 on 103.9 FM.

The daughters of Jim Irsay have taken over ownership of the Indianapolis Colts and at a press conference on Tuesday, assured fans and media that they are ready for the task. Casey Foyt said that their father did everything he could for a long time to make sure they were ready to take over the team. Carley Irsay-Gordon says they will “maintain a high standard” as they make an effort to “be the best.” Jim Irsay passed away at the end of May.
It was a dismal third quarter that did the Indiana Fever in last night. They lost to the Atlanta Dream 77-58. Natasha Howard led Indiana in scoring with 15 points. The Fever hope to bounce back when they host the New York Liberty Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis.
