Batesville Middle School basketball went on the road and swept rival Greensburg last night. It was the Bulldogs over the Pirates 44-19 in the 7th grade game. Batesville limited Greensburg to two field goals in the second half. The Bulldogs’ Miles Lawrence led all scorers with 19 points. BMS improves to 12-6. And it was Batesville over Greensburg in the 8th grade contest 69-24. Three Bulldogs scored in double figures. Logan Schneider led all scorers with 17 points. Jonah Heil and Jasper Johnson both poured in a season-high 12. BMS 8th grade is now 17-0.
St. Lawrence 8th grade knocked off St. Louis 37-24. Cam Walke tossed in 14 points to lead the Cardinals.

In girls action last night, Class 3A #1 Greensburg crushed South Dearborn 74-16. The Pirates are back in action tonight at home against Indianapolis Roncalli. Also on tonight’s local girls hoops schedule, Class 4A #13 East Central hosts Dixie Heights of Northern Kentucky; Batesville goes to Switzerland County; Milan visits Rising Sun; North Decatur hops the bus to Morristown, and South Decatur journeys to Knightstown.
The Indiana Pacers held off the Boston Celtics 98-96 in NBA action heard last night on the Sports Voice. Indiana has won three in a row for the first time this season. Paskal Siakam led the Pacers with 21 points. The Blue and Gold are back in action tomorrow night in downtown Indianapolis against Toronto.
Purdue remains at #5 in this week’s AP Top 25 College Basketball poll. Arizona is still #1, followed by Iowa State, UConn, Michigan and the Boilermakers to round out the top five.
In the final game of the NFL Playoffs Wild Card round last night, the Houston Texans scored 23 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to eliminate the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-6.
