Class 3A #7 Batesville hammered Rushville 73-35 in high school basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Bulldogs set a new single-game school record by hitting 17 three-pointers on the night. Batesville’s James Hughes tossed in a game-high 20 points. Teammate Brayden Maple added 13 and Kamryn Holcomb chipped in 11. Zy Adams scored 15 points to lead the Lions. With the win, Batesville improves to 17-2 overall and clinches at least a share of the EIAC championship with a 6-0 mark…

Elsewhere, East Central topped Connersville 53-46 in St. Leon. Liam Rogers led the Trojans with 14 points while Aiden Hallahan added 12 and Cole Reynolds chimed in with 11. East Central improves to 4-1 in the EIAC and 8-11 overall. EC and Batesville meet up at the Dawg Pound tomorrow afternoon. Phil Castellini has been approved by Major League Baseball as the new Majority Owner and CEO of the Cincinnati Reds. He succeeds his father Bob, who held the position since buying the team 20 years ago.
