The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles soared into the Feldhaus and defeated the Oldenburg Academy Twisters 52-45 in boys basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. Chase Youngman led the Eagles with 10 points. The Twisters’ Henry Wanstrath poured in a game-high 15 while teammate Adam Weber contributed 11 points. JCD improves to 5-10 while OA drops to 8-6.

Elsewhere, Batesville topped North Decatur 66-53; East Central held off Columbus East 53-47; Class 2A #3 South Ripley goes to 16-0 after topping Connersville 63-44 at the Spartan Bowl; the fourth-ranked team in 1A, Hauser, rolled over South Decatur 79-25; it was Greensburg over Lawrenceburg 47-36, and Southwestern (Hanover) doubled up Milan 88-44.

Batesville entertains Hauser in boys hoops tonight on WRBI. Coverage begins around 7:15.

In other games around the area, East Central goes to Rushville, South Ripley hosts Lawrenceburg, Milan welcomes Switzerland County, Jac-Cen-Del is home against Trinity Lutheran, Oldenburg journeys to Waldron, and North Decatur entertains Tri.

The 10th-ranked Purdue Boilermakers held off the Indiana Hoosiers 81-76  to take that in-state rivalry game last night in West Lafayette. The Boilermakers improve to 17-5 overall and 9-2 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers fall to 14-8 and 5-6.

The Pacers return to the court this evening at home against the Atlanta Hawks. Tipoff in downtown Indianapolis is at 5:00.
