The Bulldogs open the season at 1-0 while the Eagles fall to 0-2…In other local action, Greensburg edged New Castle 51-47; South Dearborn nipped Franklin County 54-52; South Decatur got past Trinity Lutheran 69-63, and it was South Ripley over Rising Sun 65-34.

In girls hoops play on Saturday, Class 4A #9 East Central topped 2A #19 South Ripley 55-44. EC’s Audrina Dugan led all scorers with 19 points while Natalie Stenger added 18. Kaiya Rinear led South Ripley with 12 points. The Trojans go to 7-0 while the Raiders dip to 5-2…Class 3A #4 Greensburg dumped Seymour 72-36. The Pirates improve to 3-2; Milan held off New Washington 46-40; North Decatur got past Knightstown 48-43, and 1A #10 Oldenburg Academy turned back Henryville 58-39. The Twisters are now 5-1.

The Houston Texans knocked off the Indianapolis Colts 20-16 yesterday at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts have lost three of their last four and are now 8-4 on the year. With the loss and Jacksonville’s win over Tennessee, the Colts fall out of first place in the AFC South. The Colts and first place Jaguars will meet in Jacksonville this Sunday.
