(Brookville) – A low-cost spay and neuter clinic will return to Brookville later this month, giving pet owners in Franklin County and surrounding communities an affordable option for routine veterinary surgeries.
The first Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic of 2026 is scheduled for Jan. 27, with pickup and drop-off at Grooming Girls Pet Salon in Brookville. Pre-registration is required, and walk-ins will not be accepted.
To schedule a cat or dog for surgery, pet owners must call the clinic’s transport line at 317-922-8185 or 317-675-0072 and leave a message. Appointments may also be started online at lowcostspayneuterindiana.org.
When registering online, users must select the transport option and choose “schedule transportation.” From there, they should select the Brookville/Noblesville clinic, rather than the Brownsburg location, to ensure proper placement.
The clinic does not provide transportation for vaccine-only appointments. However, vaccinations can be administered at the same time as a spay, neuter or dental procedure.
Special accommodations are also available for community cat caretakers. Feral cats do not require an appointment, and individuals may bring up to two feral cats per day for the clinic.
Organizers note that some transport appointments are currently booking out several months, and residents are encouraged to register as early as possible.
Volunteers with the Franklin County Indiana Humane Society said they are excited to continue offering affordable pet-care opportunities locally and encourage residents to reach out with questions ahead of the clinic.
Low-cost spay and neuter clinics are widely viewed as an effective tool in reducing pet overpopulation and easing pressure on local shelters.
