South Ripley teacher wins Lilly Fellowship Grant

south-ripley-4x3VERSAILLES, Ind. — Mr. Max Howard, a teacher at South Ripley High School, recently won a Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship.

Mr. Howard, who teaches Biomedical Science at the high school, will use the grant money to experience ecosystems and biodiversity in the Ohio River Valley, waters of Lake Erie, and New Zealand.

2017 marks the program’s 30th year, and the program gives teachers, principals, guidance counselors, and school media specialists and librarians the financial support and encouragement to renew their commitment to the education profession.

There were over 100 educators selected from across the state, and each fellow will receive a $12,000 grant.
