Sonya Lu Hubbard, age 89, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Born November 3, 1935, in Connersville, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Capitola (Thumb) Showalter.
Sonya was a comedian, a jack of all trades. She loved spending time outside doing yard work, spending time with her family, friends, and especially her dogs. She was loved by many.
Sonya is survived by her children, Tammy (Doug) Biddle, Rhonda Goodin, and Fred (Dian) Hubbard. Grandmother of Joey Hubbard, Logan Hubbard, Josh Hubbard, and Jackie (Dale) Wolfe. Great-grandmother of many. Sister of Cathy Broyles, David (Linda) Showalter, Tim (Debbie) Showalter, and sister-in-law, Chris Showalter. Also survived by her fur babies Bojangles, Spooky, and Tuck.
Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joseph H. Hubbard, sisters, Susan Showalter and Peggy Butler, brothers, Freddie, Jackie Farrell, and Larry Showalter, grandsons Jeremy Hubbard, and Randy Fultz. Also preceded by her beloved dogs Nash Bridges and Liberty Bell.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.
