(Batesville, IN) – Two Southeastern Indiana YMCA Learning Center employees were celebrated at the September Meeting of its Board of Directors for continuing the Y’s mission of promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Kenzie Dreyer, kitchen staff, and Jennifer O’Dell, Lead Teacher, 3/4-year-old preschool room, were presented with the S.O.A.R. Award (Service and Outstanding Achievement Recognition).
Kenzie Dreyer – “My favorite thing about Kenzie is that she walks into the Learning Center every day smiling, and she leaves every day with a smile. She cleans for us, and she is always willing to go above and beyond and do whatever we ask of her. We are so blessed to have her on staff,” says McKenzie Callahan, YMCA Learning Center Childcare Director.
Jennifer O’Dell – Celebrating 25 years on staff, several attendees spoke to honor O’Dell.
“A true testament to Jennifer, is the relationships she’s built with her students, parents, and co-workers over 25 years,” says Callahan.
Tara Britton, Southeastern Indiana YMCA Chief Executive Officer added, “Jennifer is amazing with her kiddos, and she is a leader to the other staff. New teachers can see how her longevity has made an impact on her students, and that they will have the same opportunities to grow professionally at the Y.”
Neal Wiggermann, a Board of Directors member said, “Jennifer taught both my kiddos and she is terrific. You never see her sweat. She makes a job that is not easy, look easy. Thank you, Jennifer.”
“We honor Kenzie and Jennifer for their consistency, and experience and for serving as role models that have gone above and beyond job expectations,” says Britton. “They have enhanced the quality of life for the YMCA community by providing extraordinary services, activities, and other initiatives that strengthen our staff, members, and the community.”
