Indianapolis, In. — The USO of Indiana is pleased to announce the election of Doug Warnecke of Morristown, IN as their new President and CEO.  Colonel (ret) Doug Warnecke was the Chief of Staff for the 38th Infantry Division when he retired from the Indiana National Guard in 1999.  Doug then worked for O’Neal Steel, Inc. in various positions, retiring in 2009 as the Regional Safety Manager. Following O’Neal Steel, Doug  was the USO of Indiana’s first Executive Director and subsequently transitioned to the USO of Indiana Board of Directors in 2014.  He replaces Carl Huber, Roanoke, IN, who had served as the Board President since March 2015.  “Doug has been involved with the USO of Indiana in various capacities since 2011 and has been integral to our expansion statewide,” said Charles Ridings, USO of Indiana’s Executive Director.  “He’s a tireless leader and will continue to build on the great things Carl has done for our service members in the Hoosier state.”

Doug is a graduate of Ball State University with a BS in Education and an MA in Administration. He also serves on the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals for Shelby County, Indiana. “The USO of Indiana has a tremendous duty to take care of those that are currently serving our country,” said Warnecke.  “It is an honor and a pleasure to serve as the leader of this great organization.”
