Shawn Burton, 71, of Moores Hill passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sunday, October 24, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Kirby Hartford Burton and Ruth Ellen Burton. Shawn was a member of the Milan American Legion Post #235 and could often be found doing anything from fishing to restoring classic cars to riding his Harley. He was indeed a master of many trades.
Shawn is survived by ex-spouse, Nancy (Turner) Burton of Dillsboro; sons David McAdams of Oregon and Shawn McAdams of Portland, Oregon; daughters Kelly McAdams of Moores Hill, Terry McAdams of Covington; Jamie Burton (Casey Rhoads) of Batesville, and Tiffany Burton of Moores Hill; brother Tanne Burton of Aurora; grandchildren Kimberly McAdams, Katy Rhoads and Ciera Rhoads; and great-grandchildren Lee Ann, Mikeala, Christian, and Baby Dani Shawn was preceded in death by his mother and father, Kirby and Ruth Burton; and brother Gevin Burton.
Family and friends may gather to remember Shawn from 9 AM to 11 AM Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan, Indiana. A memorial service celebrating Shawn’s life will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home with Celebrant Markie Peters-Roberts. Full Military Rites will be provided by the Milan American Legion #235.
