Sentence handed down in Meth dealing case following plea agreement

GREENSBURG, IN — Rebecca Stuart was sentenced Thursday in Decatur Superior Court to 23 years in prison and seven years probation after she pleaded guilty on July 19 to two counts of Level 2 Dealing in Methamphetamine.

The plea agreement called for a 30-year sentence, but the prosecution and defense attorneys both agreed seven of those years should be suspended to supervised probation.

Judge Matthew Bailey listened to evidence and witnesses from both sides for nearly two and a half hours before handing down the sentence.

The 59-year-old Stuart was arrested at a Lake McCoy home a year ago this month following a narcotics investigation in which Greensburg Police detectives seized over 250 grams of Methamphetamine and more than $80,000 in cash.
