Scott Edward Lindewald, 57, of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, while surrounded by loved ones at the VA medical center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on December 7th, 1965 in Batesville, Indiana to the late Chester Lindewald and Carmen (Victor) Nunlist.
Scott graduated from Jac-Cen-Del High School, class of 1984, and enlisted in the United States Navy soon after. He served for 9 years, including during The Gulf War and aboard the USS Roanoke (AOR-7). Scott was proud to serve his country and always reminisced on his time of service as living out his dream. He spent most of his post-military career as a delivery driver for Load One and was usually found playing Dungeons & Dragons with his dearest friends Dan Bultman, Gary Richter, and Jeff Adams.
Scott is survived by his three children, Jesse (Julie) McDonald, Holli (Troy) Wagner, and Stephanie McDonald, and her longtime partner, Ryan; two grandchildren, Evelyn and Liam, and a grandchild on the way; his mother, Carmen (Victor) Nunlist; a brother, Johnny Bevis; and sisters, Lori Miller and Angela (Billy) Brummett. He is preceded in death by his father Chester Lindewald.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Scott’s life at Meyers Funeral Home on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Randy Thieman will be officiating. Military honors will immediately follow at the funeral home, conducted by the Batesville VFW Post #3183 and Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271.
