Scott Allen Riedeman, 54, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2025, in his hometown.
Scott was born on February 12, 1971, in Greensburg to Robert “Jake” Riedeman and Darlene (Firsich) Riedeman. A 1989 graduate of Greensburg Community High School, Scott spent his life rooted in the values of hard work, family, and a deep love for the land.
Throughout the years, Scott worked various jobs, but his heart was always with the farmers. Helping on local farms brought him the greatest joy, and he found peace in the simplicity of rural life. Whether he was out in the fields, riding a quad, or just sitting outside with his radio, Scott felt most at home in the country.
He was an avid fan of Indiana University sports and the Indianapolis Colts, and he loved country music, line dancing, fishing, and watching tractor pulls. As a child, he enjoyed riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, and that adventurous spirit stayed with him his whole life. Scott had a special place in his heart for his beagle dogs, and he also enjoyed a little bit of hunting on occasion.
Scott was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg and held tightly to his faith and family. He was always looking for ways to stay busy, especially on the family farm, and he cherished the simple pleasures of life.
He is survived by his loving parents, Jake and Darlene Riedeman; his siblings, Amy (Jim) Morrow and Greg (Renee Tannreuther) Riedeman; nieces, Jordyn (Chris) Brown and Kaitlyn Luken; nephew, Joseph Morrow; great-niece, OakLynn Brown; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his companion, Debra Goins.
Scott was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Omer and Gertrude Riedeman; maternal grandparents, Donald and Kathryn Firsich; uncles, Dale Riedeman and Dennis Riedeman; and cousins, Chris Daeger and Adam Holtkamp.
The family will be holding private funeral services to honor Scott’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mental Health America or your local FFA (Future Farmers of America) organization—causes that align with Scott’s values and love for helping others and the farming community.
