School board awards contract for BCSC stadium building improvements

BATESVILLE, IN — The Batesville School Board this week awarded the contract for the planned school corporation stadium building improvements to Bruns-Gutzwiller, which submitted the winning bid of $1.4 million.

The school corporation’s consultant on the project, Fanning Howey of Indianapolis, recommended the bid award.

Plans call for a reconfigured locker room/concession building; the addition of a third locker room, upgraded coaches’ offices, and improved heating and cooling systems.

Another facet of the stadium improvement project calls for the installation of artificial turf and improvements to the stands and running track.

The school board previously approved the sale of $4 million in bonds for the project, which school corporation officials say will not cause an increase in property taxes.
