Saturday crash in Ripley County injures two

Versailles, In. — A Saturday crash in Ripley County injured two people.

A report from the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department says a car driven by Austin Seeley, 19, of Versailles, hit a patch of slush on U.S. 421 near Industrial Park Road around 11:45 a.m. and lost control. The car slid off the roadway and into a ditch.

First responders found Joshua Daugherty, 20, of Versailles, laying on the ground with back and neck injuries. Daugherty was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Seeley was treated for minor injuries. Reports indicate neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

Ripley County sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Indiana Conservation officers, Indiana State Police, Holton Police, Versailles Fire Department, Ripley County EMS and Carl’s Automotive.
